Representatives of the international project Tiny Books from Baltic Authors<\/em> will hold a panel discussion on April 5th during the London Book Fair. The discussion will be held in the Olympic Theatre in London at 15.15 to 16.00.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The project \u2018Tiny Books on Human Rights from Baltic Authors\u2019 was created to enrich children\u2019s literature with topics of cultural diversity and depict a variety of social backgrounds. The project\u2019s participants \u2013 established writers and illustrators from three Baltic countries created 18 tiny books for children between the ages of 6 to 10. The books are downloadable free of charge and they are accompanied with methodological user aids developed by child psychologists, children\u2019s literature critics, and reading promotion specialists, encouraging parents and educators to explore the stories together with children.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The panel discussion will introduce the tiny books and user aids, as well as discuss the importance of literature\u2019s role in educating readers about human rights issues.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The panelists include: Nicky Parker, Head of literature and human rights, Amnesty International, Ulla Saar, Director of Foreign Relations, Estonian Children’s Literature Centre, Anna Ring, Illustrator, Anna Ring Illustration, Egl\u0117 Gela\u017ei\u016bt\u0117-Petrauskien\u0117, Artist, University of Chester, J\u0101nis Jo\u0146evs, Writer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
