The award went to Rainbow Rowell for <em>Eleanor &amp; Park (Eleanor &amp; Park)<\/em>, the translator Ren\u00e9 Tendermann and the publishing house Pegasus. The aim of the award is to encourage the translation of outstanding foreign children\u2019s books into Estonian.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>In September, Estonian nominees for the <strong>IBBY Honor List 2016<\/strong> were announced. These are the author Juhani P\u00fcttsepp for his book <em>Gibraltari Laevakoerte \u00dching<\/em> (<em>Gibraltar\u2019s Ship\u2019s Dogs Society<\/em>), the illustrator Anne Linnam\u00e4gi for Triin Soomets\u2019 <em>Unerong<\/em> (<em>The Dream Train<\/em>) and translator Kadri Jaanits for Salla Simukka\u2019s <em>Punane nagu veri<\/em> (<em>As Red as Blood<\/em>). The nominees will be awarded with diplomas in August 2016 during the IBBY Congress at Auckland, New Zealand.<\/p>\n<p>In 2015, IBBY Estonia has also nominated Estonian authors and illustrators for two significant international awards.<\/p>\n<p>Our candidate for the <strong>H. C. Andersen Award 2016<\/strong> is the author Piret Raud. Piret Raud (b. 1971) is one of the most outstanding authors of modern Estonian children\u2019s literature, both in terms of diversity and recognition.
